Q: Are you a motivational speaker?

SORRELL: First, let's ask what motivation really is. It's something that impels you forward, that pushes and compels you onward toward your goals. Truthfully, the only thing that will motivate you with real consistency is your self-interest, not somebody from the outside making you jump up and down on a chair and clap and scream affirmations.

Q: So your answer is ...

SORRELL: No, not a motivational speaker. I'm a dynamic sales training professional, yes, but what attracts audiences to me is that I teach powerful techniques and tools that will make them more money, and that is HIGHLY motivating. The power is in the content. When they go back to their sales jobs and entrepreneurial ventures and consulting practices and use my secrets to land bigger, better accounts at higher margins and put tons more cash in their pockets ... they're MOTIVATED! So I guess as a trainer you should call me the motivation maker, not the motivational speaker.

SORRELL: Certainly. Invaluable secrets. Shhhhhhh!
